Cather Avery is an eighteen-year-old girl obsessed with the Simon Snow series. She enjoys dressing up as characters, reading fanfiction, and writing about it.
She is an English major at her college and spends her days writing Simon Snow fanfiction or stories to turn in to her fiction-writing class.
History
Cather "Cath" Avery was born to Arthur Avery and Lauren Avery. She is the identical twin sister of Wren Avery, a more outgoing and social personality.
On September 11 2001, Cath's mother left, as she and Arthur had never meant to have a serious relationship. The girls (Cath and Wren) ended up going to a counselor to help them through the divorce. They ended up harboring hard feelings toward their mother.
Appearance
On the cover of Fangirl, she has reddish brownish hair in a messy tie and square-framed glasses.
In the story, she is said to have wide hips and a pear shaped body. She is of perfect weight, though she wishes she were a bit heavier in the back and chest.
Characteristics
Cather (known as Cath) is, unlike her sister, very quiet and shy. She would rather stay in on weekend nights writing stories than go out partying
Cath is very self conscious. She doesn't care what people think of her clothing, necessarily, but when it comes to her personality, she doesn't try to flaunt who she is. She's very mellow until she truly gets to know people.
Hobbies
Cather absolutely loves to write. She is an English major, so obviously, she loves to write. But after a while, she realizes that it's writing about fantasies, such as Simon Snow and Baz. She can't come up with her own worlds and her own characters; that isn't her thing. She only enjoys writing fanfiction (and she's fantastic at it).
